A seat slide apparatus for a vehicle includes: a lower rail (1); an upper rail (2); a lock arm (8) including lock claws (8b); a memory rail (31) including engagement grooves (31b); a memory base (32) including an engagement member (32b); a lock release lever; and a connection separation lever (37). The lock claws (8b) are arranged to be engaged or disengaged with the lock holes at a position other than a position at which the engagement portion is engaged with the one of the engagement grooves (31b). The upper rail (2) includes a pushing portion arranged to push the engagement member when the upper rail is moved in the forward direction of the vehicle at the release state between the upper rail (2) and the memory base (32), and to move the memory base (32) at the position at which the engagement portion is engaged with the one of the engagement grooves (31b).
