The invention relates to a damping device for opposing a reaction in response to the advance of a manual control member (28), said device including at least one chamber containing a magneto-rheological fluid, one or two means for generating a magnetic field (6.1, 6.2) that can be adapted in the magneto-rheological fluid in order to modify the apparent viscosity thereof, a mobile member (4) capable of translation for shearing the magneto-rheological fluid and to be mechanically connected to the manual control member (28), said mobile member (4) including a blade with a longitudinal axis (Y) including holes and/or recesses and/or protrusions.
