The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus comprising a plurality of image forming portions each configured to form a toner image by developing means using a developer; a plurality of toner containers each configured to contain the developer to be supplied to said developing means; a rotatable intermediate transfer belt provided above said image forming portions, wherein the toner image is primarily transferred to an inclined surface, opposed to said plurality of image forming portions, of said intermediate transfer belt; a plurality of rollers configured to rotate while supporting said intermediate transfer belt; a plurality of primary transfer members each configured to transfer the toner image primarily onto said intermediate transfer belt; secondary transfer means for transferring the toner image secondarily from said intermediate transfer belt onto a recording material; and fixing means for fixing the secondarily transferred toner image to the recording material, wherein each of said toner containers is disposed so that said container overlaps a portion of said intermediate transfer belt defining said inclined surface as viewed along rotational axes of said plurality of rollers.
