The invention relates to a FMCW radar locating apparatus having an antenna (10) covered by a radome (18), to a mixer (12) for mixing a frequency-modulated transmitted signal with a signal received by the antenna (10), to a device for presenting the mixed product of the mixer as a time-dependent signal (22), to a device (26) for calculating the spectrum of the time-dependent signal, and to a device (32) for detecting a reflecting coating (30) on the radome (18), characterized in that the device (32) for detecting the reflecting coating (30) is designed for analyzing the time-dependent signal (22) and for determining the extent of reflection at the radome (18) using the amplitude of said signal.
