The invention relates to a structural component (1), comprising at least one main-load-bearing covering shell (B) and a carrier structure (T) for fixing the covering shell, wherein the covering shell (B) is designed in the form of a sandwich and formed by an inner skin section (11), an outer skin section (12) and a shear-load-absorbing core layer (13) which is disposed between said two sections and connects the inner and the outer skin sections (11, 12) to one another in a planar manner, wherein the carrier structure (T) is formed by at least one panel-shaped connecting part (22) which extends between and transversely to said inner and outer skin sections and is connected along a reference longitudinal direction (L-R) to the covering shell (B). In order to support the covering shell (B) on the carrier structure, the connecting part is located outside the carrier structure (T) and is fastened to the inner skin section (11) resting thereon in a planar manner, wherein at least one profiled support (V0; V1, V2, V3, V4) extending along the reference longitudinal direction (L-R) is provided in the covering shell (B) in order to form a reinforcing section in the connecting region (14) of the panel-shaped connecting part (22). The profiled support is connected to the inner skin section (11) and the outer skin section (12) in order to stabilise the covering shell (B) when the latter sustains damage and thereby provides support from the outside.
