The invention relates to a fire door (10) for rail vehicles, preferably for separating the driver's cab (11) from the passenger compartment (12), having • a door frame, •a door leaf (18), • a sealing strip (23) which is arranged on the floor-side edge (22) of the door leaf, • an anti-fire strip (25) which is arranged on the floor-side edge (22) of the door leaf (18) and changes its shape and/or size under the effect of heat, wherein the fire door has a tread strip (16) which is shaped and arranged in such a way that, when the door is closed, the sealing strip (23) bears against the tread strip (16) and a gap (S1) is formed between the anti-fire strip (25) on the floor-side edge (22) of the door leaf (18) and the tread strip (16), which gap (S1) is closed off when there is a thermal effect of the anti-fire strip (25) on the floor-side edge (22), and by opening the door a gap (S2) is produced between the sealing strip (23) and the tread strip (16), and a tread strip for use in fire doors, and a rail vehicle which has such a fire door.
