Abstract:
A device (700, 714, 714', 820) for removing polyps or other tissue from the nose, nasopharynx or paranasal sinus, said device comprising:a flexible catheter (702, 718, 822) having a distal end and a lumen; a flexible tube (704, 722, 830) having an open distal end and a lumen extending therethrough, said flexible tube (704, 722, 830) being rotatably disposed within a lumen of the catheter (702, 718, 822) such that the flexible tube (704, 722, 830) may rotate while the catheter (702, 718, 822) does not rotate; a rotating cutter (706, 724, 832) on the distal end of the flexible tube (704, 722, 830); and an opening formed in the catheter (702, 718, 822) such that matter may be received through the opening and cut by the rotating cutter (706, 724, 832).
