The invention is based on a control device (2) for a motor vehicle. The control device (2) has a first circuit carrier (4) with electrical components (36, 38), which are electrically conductively connected to one another, and a second circuit carrier (6) with electrical components (100), which are electrically conductively connected to one another. The first circuit carrier (4) and the second circuit carrier (6) are electrically conductively connected to one another. The second circuit carrier (6) is fixedly connected in thermally conductive fashion to a fluid‑tight thermally conductive carrier element (10). According to the invention, the first circuit carrier (4) has a cutout (15), wherein the second circuit carrier (6) is arranged in the cutout (15). The carrier element (10) is arranged in the cutout (15). The carrier element (10) has better thermal conductivity than the first circuit carrier (4). The carrier element (10) can be thermally conductively connected to a heat sink (56, 64). The carrier element (10) is integrated in fluid‑tight fashion in an internal region (14) of the first circuit carrier (4).
