The present invention relates to a silencer system for a vacuum motor in a suction cleaner, which may be constructed using only one or two parts to form a housing for the vacuum motor including the silencer system, which system may comprise a main fan silencer system for the main fan and a second motor cooling silencer system for the motor cooling fan, wherein the main fan is encapsulated in a housing surrounded by a substantially circular first wall part in such a way that a first cavity is formed between the housing and the first wall part, and the system further comprises two ducts, each connected at one end with a serpentine shaped exhaust air duct and at the other end with a second cavity, said second cavity being connected with the first cavity by an opening in the first wall part.
