The invention relates to an optical system (1) for imaging an object (O), comprising a first optical subsystem (12) which is arranged in a first housing part (2), a second optical subsystem (13) which is arranged in a second housing part (3) and at least one first articulated bridge (4) which joins the first housing part (2) to the second housing part (3), the first optical subsystem (12) comprising at least one first focusing unit (52A), the second optical subsystem (13) comprising at least one second focusing unit (52B), said first optical subsystem (12) comprising at least one first drive unit (20A) for moving the first focusing unit (52A), the second optical subsystem (13) comprising at least one second drive unit (20B) for moving the second focusing unit (52B). Said optical system (1) comprises at least one first control unit (53) for controlling the first drive unit (20A) and/or the second drive unit (20B), the first control unit (32) being electromechanical.
