The invention relates to a device (2) for ensuring the traceability of a product obtained by felling a tree, such as a log or a bolt, comprising: a casing (4) which defines a container and which is provided with attachment means designed to be attached to the product; an electronic unit arranged in the casing (4), the electronic unit including a chip configured to store information related to the product and an antenna for transmitting said information to a compatible reader; and a coating layer extending, at least partially, into the casing (4) in order to cover the electronic unit.
