The invention relates to a cable marker comprising: a housing, which has an accommodating opening for accommodating a label for marking a cable; a cover for closing the accommodating opening in a closed position; and a film hinge, by means of which the housing is integrally connected to the cover in such a way that, in an open position in which the cover does not close the accommodating opening, the cover can be pivoted in relation to the housing along a pivoting plane. According to the invention, the film hinge (4) has a first base segment (40), by means of which the film hinge (4) is connected to the housing (2), a second base segment (41), by means of which the film hinge (4) is connected to the cover (3), and a connecting segment (42) arranged between the first base segment (40) and the second base segment (41), wherein the connecting segment (42) has a width (W1) that is reduced in comparison with at least one of the base segments (40, 41) as viewed in a direction perpendicular to the pivoting plane (E). In this way, a cable marker is provided which can be handled in a comfortable way, can be designed to be see-through with good transparency, and additionally can be optimized for a desired use.
