The present invention provides a fibre composite laying device (10) for manufacturing a fibre composite scrim (11) for forming a fibre composite component, comprising a laying head (1), which is configured to supply a fibre composite band (2) continuously in a supply region (3); comprising a laying roller (4), which is configured to receive the fibre composite band (2) from the supply region (3), to unroll it towards a laying surface (5), and to press it onto the laying surface (5) in a laying region (6); comprising a pressing means (7) which is located between the supply region (3) and the laying region (6) and which is configured to press the fibre composite band (2) onto the laying roller (4) in a pressing region (8); and comprising a cutting means (9) which is configured to cut the fibre composite band (2) to length between the supply region (3) and the pressing region (8). The present invention further provides a fibre composite laying method (M) for producing a fibre composite scrim (11) using a fibre composite laying device (10) of this type.
