The invention relates to a support module (1) for an OHC valve gear of an internal combustion engine, comprising two upright supporting walls (2) spaced apart from each other, which can be connected to a cylinder head cover in the segment of the upper faces (3) of the supporting walls and to a cylinder head in the segment of the lower faces (4) of the supporting walls, wherein at least one camshaft (5) and at least one lever pin (6, 7) having one or more cam-following levers (8, 9) are supported in the supporting walls (2), wherein the supporting walls (2) are integrally bridged at the upper faces (3) thereof by a transverse bar (10), wherein a leg (11) for directly connecting the support module (1) to the cylinder head integrally protrudes from the lower face (4) of each supporting wall (2) and wherein the supporting walls (2) can be produced together with the transverse bar (10) and the legs (11) from steel sheet by means of punching and bending.
