The invention relates to a grinding pad for detachably connecting a material blank to be ground to a retaining device, wherein the grinding pad comprises a polymeric carrier layer and adhesive coatings, which are applied to both sides of the polymeric carrier layer, wherein the one side of the polymeric carrier layer, which should be connected to the retaining device, has an adhesive coating that is formed of a first adhesive, and the other side of the polymeric carrier layer, which should be connected to the material blank, has an adhesive coating that is formed of a second and a third adhesive, which are different from each other, such that the second adhesive enables adhesion to the material blank and the third adhesive is an adhesive that limits rotation and translation of the polymeric carrier layer with respect to the material blank, wherein the second adhesive and the third adhesive are applied to the other side of the polymeric carrier layer in separate areas.
