Abstract:
A method (500) for locating a mobile station within a mobile cellular network comprises: transmitting (501) at least three radio signals between the mobile station and a corresponding number of at least three base stations, wherein each of the at least three radio signals comprises a time information indicating a transmittal time of the respective radio signal; computing (502) for each of the at least three radio signals a time delay based on a difference between an arrival time and the transmittal time of the respective radio signal; retrieving (503) for each of the at least three radio signals information about transmission path losses of the respective radio signal from a data storage; computing (504) for each of the at least three radio signals a distance of the mobile station to the respective base station based on the time delay and the information about transmission path losses; and determining (505) a location of the mobile station based on trilateration of the at least three distances.
