Packaging machine (12) and wrapping method for the production of a pack (1) of tobacco articles; a first wrapping unit (14), which creates an inner wrapping (3) around a group (4) of tobacco articles by folding a wrap (7; 9); a second wrapping unit (15), which creates an outer container (2) around the inner wrapping (3) by folding a blank (10; 45); and a feeding unit (16), which receives the inner wrapping (3) from the first wrapping unit (14) in an input station (S1) and releases the inner wrapping (3) to the second wrapping unit (15) in an output station (S2); the feeding unit (16) has: a first feeding wheel (17) supporting at least one first pocket (19), which advances along a first feeding path (P1); a second feeding wheel (20) supporting at least one second pocket (22), which advances along a second feeding path (P2); and a transfer device (23), which is arranged in a transfer station (S3) and transfers the inner wrapping (3) from the first pocket (19) to the second pocket (22); when the packaging machine (12) is brought to a standstill, the position of the transfer station (S3) along the first feeding path (P1) and/or along the second feeding path (P2) can be changed, thus changing the length of the first feeding path (P1) or of the second feeding path (P2) and in order to change the orientation given to the inner wrapping (3) as it moves through the feeding unit (16).
