The invention relates to a container (1) for storing and dispensing at least one component, comprising at least one chamber (4, 4a, 4b), which is closed on a first side by a plug (9), and comprising an applicator (5), which is fastened on the first side. A flow connection between the at least one chamber (4, 4a, 4b) and the side of the applicator (5) facing away from the at least one chamber (4, 4a, 4b) is opened by means of a rotational motion of the applicator (5) in relation to the container (1) and a subsequent axial motion of the plug (9) in relation to the container (1) and the applicator (5), in particular as a result of pressure of the at least one component on the plug (9). The invention further relates to a method for storing and dispensing at least one component.
