Method and system for providing information data (ID) using a notification system (BSYS) for an application (APP) of a terminal (EG), having the steps of: reception (S1) of a notification registration (BREG) by the notification system (BSYS) from the terminal (EG) during registration of the terminal (EG) with the notification system (BSYS), the received notification registration (BREG) having a notification address (B-ADR), for addressing a web service (WS) provided by a gateway component (GWK), and a call parameter (AP), which is dependent on a notification token (BT) of the terminal (EG); transmission (S2) of a notification (B), which contains information data (ID) as notification content (BI), by the notification system (BSYS) to the notification address (B-ADR) that the notification registration (BREG) contains; derivation (S3) of the notification token (BT) by the web service (WS), addressed by the notification address (B-ADR), of the gateway component (GWK) from the call parameter (AP) obtained, the derived notification token (BT) being transmitted to a delivery system (ASYS) together with the information data (ID) or an access address (Z-ADR) for accessing the information data (ID); identification (S4) of the terminal (EG) by the delivery system (ASYS) on the basis of the notification token (BT) obtained, and forwarding of the information data (ID) or the access address (Z-ADR) for accessing the information data (ID) to the application (APP) of the identified terminal (EG) by the delivery system (ASYS).
