The invention relates to a picking station (1; 17) for picking articles (2) from storage containers (3) into order containers (9, 15) in accordance with the goods-to-person principle, comprising: a storage-container conveying system (10) for transporting storage containers (3), in particular boxes, containing articles (2) from a storage rack into at least one storage-container bay (7) of the picking station (1; 17) arranged in an arrangement row (6); a picking region (5) for a picking person (4) or a picking robot, which picking region is arranged along the arrangement row (6); and a first order-container conveying system (14; 18) for transporting first order containers (15; 18) for accommodating articles (2) removed from the storage containers (3), which first order-container conveying system is arranged in a further arrangement row (13); wherein a second order-container conveying system (12) for transporting second order containers (9), in particular boxes, for holding articles (2) is provided in order-container bays (8) of the picking station (1; 17), which are likewise arranged in the arrangement row (6).
