The invention concerns a wheeled rear axle assembly (10) for a motor vehicle comprising: - a central connection support (14) that comprises at least a first front crossmember (16) and a second crossmember (18) arranged behind the first front crossmember (16); - at least two articulations (42) each comprising at least two lower suspension arms (44, 52), each of which connects an associated steering knuckle (20) with one side of the connection support (14), each suspension arm (44, 52, 60) being mounted pivotably on the first and second crossmembers (16, 18) of the connection support (14); characterised in that the connection support (14) comprises at least one tank (12) delimited by a rigid outer wall, the first and second crossmembers (16, 18) being rigidly connected to each other via the wall of the tank (12).
