A transport star wheel (1) for lifting containers (2) out of workpiece carriers (3) and/or for placing containers (2) in workpiece carriers (3), wherein the transport star wheel (1) comprises a lower part for transporting the workpiece carriers (3) and a cam control system (6), wherein slides (7) are guided along the cam control system (6), said slides (7) being arranged so as to be movable in a vertical direction, wherein the cam control system (6) vertically raises and lowers the slides (7) during a complete revolution about the transport star wheel (1), and wherein controllable mould clamps (8) for gripping the containers (2) are arranged on the slides (7), and a labelling machine (9) and a printing machine which comprise such a transport star wheel (1).
