The present disclosure relates to methods (800) and associated systems for providing two energy storage devices positioned in a device-exchange station (300). The method (800) includes, for example, (1) receiving a request for retrieving two energy storage devices in the device-exchange station (300) (801); (2) selecting a first energy storage device from a plurality of energy storage devices positioned in the device-exchange station (300) based on characteristic information of each of the energy storage devices (803); (3) selecting a second energy storage device from the rest of the plurality of energy storage devices positioned in the device-exchange station (300) based on the characteristic information of the first energy storage device and the rest of the plurality of energy storage devices (805); and (4) releasing the first and second energy storage device (807).
