The invention describes a pulse-design unit (12) for creating pulse data (SD, SD', SD") for controlling a magnetic resonance system (1) comprising a data interface (21) designed for receiving an examination scheme (E) and a calculation module (20) designed for generating pulse data (SD) based on an examination scheme (E), wherein the pulse-design unit (12) comprises a data grid and/or parameter values created from map pairs (M, M') of a plurality of patients and is designed to select and/or calculate pulse data (SD) using the data grid and/or parameter values and a provided examination scheme (E). The invention further describes a method and a control device for controlling an MRI system and a related magnetic resonance imaging system.
