The present invention relates to a method for determining the sense/antisense polarity of an RNA transcript of interest in a sample, the method comprising: (a) reverse transcribing an RNA transcript of interest present in the sample, wherein the reverse transcription reaction comprises: (i) a primer linked to an oligonucleotide tag , wherein the primer specifically binds to (1) the sense strand of the RNA transcript of interest; or (2) the antisense strand of the RNA transcript of interest; (ii) a reverse transcriptase lacking or having a reduced RNase H activity; and (iii) an inhibitor of DNA-dependent DNA synthesis; (b) removing the RNA strand from the RNA:cDNA hybrid strand produced in step (a); (c) amplifying the first strand cDNA obtained in step (b) with a forward primer that specifically binds to said first strand cDNA and a reverse primer, wherein the reverse primer comprises or consists of a nucleic acid sequence that corresponds to the nucleotide sequence of the oligonucleotide tag, or to a portion thereof; and (d) detecting the presence of an amplification product, wherein the presence of an amplification product obtained after reverse transcribing the RNA transcript of interest in a reaction comprising the primer of (a)(i)(1) indicates that the RNA transcript is a sense-strand RNA transcript and the presence of an amplification product obtained after reverse transcribing the RNA transcript of interest in a reaction comprising the primer of (a)(i)(2) indicates that the RNA transcript is an antisense-strand RNA transcript; and wherein the oligonucleotide tag employed in step (a)(1) has a nucleic acid sequence that is not endogenously present in the genome of the organism from which the sample has been obtained. The present invention relates to methods for analyzing gait of a subject. In particular, the present invention relates to a method for analyzing gait of a subject, said method comprising: providing data representing the 3D-movement of a foot of said subject over time; identifying within said data first data segments that each represent of at least one stride; determining one or more stride features for each of said first data segments; and defining one or more clusters on the basis of at least one stride feature of said one or more stride features. Each of the defined clusters represents a class of strides, e.g. a class may represent the typical stride of a subject. The present invention also provides for corresponding systems that are configured to perform the methods of the present invention and the use of these systems for analyzing in assessing gait of a subject, preferably a subject suffering from a movement-impairment.
