An electronic device includes a memory, a communication module, and a processor configured to identify an application identifier of an application stored in the memory, receive information on a network status through the communication module, identify an available PDU based on an allowed network slice included in the information on the network status, determine whether it is possible to establish a PDU session among the available PDU, based on the identified application identifier and the allowed network slice, and establish the PDU session based on a result of the determination. Further, a corresponding method performed by the electronic devices is provided.
