Disclosed is a method for forming shapes and contours at least in a section of a metal part via a peening forming treatment, wherein in a closed loop the part can be formed fully automatically, including an overall evaluation of the treated (formed) part and loops for redefining the treatment process, if design requirements are not met after the forming. Before starting the treatment on the real part, a peening forming treatment profile (peening treatment strategy) is established via simulation on a digital twin of the part to be formed. Further disclosed is a working station for executing the method.
