Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved peritoneal dialysis solution containing polypeptide.
SOLUTION: The peritoneal dialysis solution contains approximately 0.25 to about 4.0% (w/v) polypeptide and approximately 0.5 to about 4.0% (w/v) glucose as osmotic pressure agents. The peritoneal dialysis solution contains a osmotically effective amount of polypeptide mixture as an osmotically active agent, wherein the polypeptide comprises about 0.1% or less polypeptide having molecular weight of larger than 1,200 and about 25% or less polypeptide having molecular weight of less than 400, and the average molecular weight of the polypeptide mixture is in the rage of about 400 to about 900 dalton.
