PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magnetic particles in a new shape which are effectively used for a variety of purposes, such as selectively destructing tumor cells or the like, a method for manufacturing the same, and an apparatus for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A magnetic particle 1 includes a core part 1 and many hair-like projections 3 around the core part 2, where the ratio of the length L of the hair-like projection 3 to a particle diameter D including the hair-like projections 3 is between 5% and 30%. The magnetic particles 1 whose average particle diameter D including the hair-like projections 3 is within the range from 100 nm to 300 nm are excellently obtained as iron particles formed by a gas flow sputtering method, and are used as magnetic particles for destructing tumor cells by a converted magnetic field given inside the tumor cells from outside by phagocytosis or endocytosis.
