NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (R
1 , R
2 , and R
3 are H or lower alkyl; R
4 is chain or cyclic lower alkyl, phenyl, chain or cyclic lower alkylamino).
EXAMPLE: 5-(p-Normal-butyryl oxyphenyl)-1,3-dimethylbiuret.
USE: Having immune adjusting action, useful as a remedly for rheumatism, collagen disease, immune disease, asthma, microbism, etc.
PROCESS: A biuret derivative shown by the formula II is reacted with an acid halide shown by the formula III (R
5 is chain or cyclic lower alkyl, or phenyl; X is halogen) or an acid anhydride shown by the formula IV in the presence of an alkali (e.g., sodium hydroxide, triethylamine, etc.) in a solvent such as water, ether, benzene, etc. at 0W20°C to give a compound shown the formula I .
