In an aspect, an instruction to integrate a plurality of applications is received through a web interface application corresponding to the integration platform. A descriptor file associated with connectivity adapters corresponding to the plurality of applications is retrieved. Further, one or more preprocessor steps and/or one or more postprocessor steps are determined by analyzing the descriptor file. The plurality of applications is integrated by executing an integration flow based on the determined one or more preprocessor steps and/or one or more postprocessor steps.
