Abstract:
An efficient method for producing 1-chloro-2,3,3,3-tetorafluoropropene from 1,1-dichloro-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene is provided. The method produces 1-chloro-2,3,3,3-tetorafluoropropene by reducing 1,1-dichloro-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene with fewer over-reduced by-products, such as 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoropropane. In the method, 1,1-dichloro-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene reacts with hydrogen in a gas phase in the presence of a palladium catalyst-carrying carrier, in which a palladium catalyst having a specific surface area of 40 m2/g or less is carried on the carrier.
