The mechanical joint includes a housing containing a motor assembly configured to drive a gear assembly for driving the mechanical joint, the motor assembly configured to be controlled by a control assembly for controlling rotation of a rotor of the motor assembly; wherein a brake disk of the control assembly is configured to increase air flow within the housing.
