The motion parameter is selected from motion parameters, which include motion parameters associated with a set of respective image samples not included in the coding tree unit, where the set of image samples are located at a predetermined position relative to an extended boundary of the coding tree unit. The apparatuses and methods of the present disclosure may facilitate reducing on-chip buffer requirements for motion prediction.
