The wireless communication terminal comprises: a transceiver configured to transmit and receive a wireless signal; and a processor configured to control an operation of the terminal. The processor is configured to: perform a backoff procedure of a channel for data transmission, suspend the backoff procedure when a wireless signal having a signal strength higher than a predetermined first clear channel assessment (CCA) threshold is received through the channel, identify whether the received wireless signal is a wireless signal of the same basic service set (BSS) as the terminal, and determine whether to resume the backoff procedure based on a CCA threshold determined according to the identification result.
