A method for entry of personal information on a media device may include receiving a request from an external device to enter personal information. An interface screen is generated, including a first section including a plurality of characters, and a second section including directional buttons and a select button. Manipulation of the directional buttons and/or the select button causes selection of characters from the first section of the interface screen to be entered into the personal information entry field displayed by the media device in an obfuscated manner.
