The optical recording medium comprises a first information layer comprised of a first substrate and a first recording layer comprising at least an organic dye, which is disposed on the first substrate and a second information layer comprised of a second substrate, a second reflective layer disposed on the second substrate, a second recording layer comprising an organic dye, which is disposed on the second reflective layer and a second protective layer disposed on the second recording layer, and an intermediate layer on which the first recording layer of the first information layer and the second recording layer of the second information layer are disposed in such a manner that the first recording layer is disposed on a surface of the intermediate layer and the second recording layer is disposed on another surface of the intermediate layer, wherein a light absorbance of the second recording layer at the wavelength of the light for the optical recording is larger than a light absorbance of the first recording layer at the wavelength of the light for the optical recording.
