In addition, the cathode active material includes iron phosphide and can be prepared under an inert atmosphere and sintered at high temperatures. The material mixture includes lithium compound, iron compound, organic carbon, phosphorous and nano-iron particles resulting in an electrode with higher unit capacity and maintenance rate.
