The invention provides a process for preparing ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide by contacting ethylene and/or propylene with an oxidizing agent, wherein (i) the reaction takes place in a microreaction system (p-reactor) and (ii) the oxidizing agent used is a peroxo compound.
