The disclosure further discloses an apparatus for terminating a location process, which comprises: a receiving unit configured to receive a request for terminating location for a UE; and a sending unit configured to send a location process terminating instruction to a network element for performing location after receiving the request for terminating location for the UE. The disclosure enables location measurement for UE to be terminated in advance, and avoid the loss of power resulted from the unnecessary measurement for UE.
