Provided is an electronic apparatus which has display output means, means for acquiring gesture information acquiring gesture information indicating a user's finger action, etc. from the remote control, means for acquiring apparatus status information for distinguishing apparatus status by a combination of a plurality of operations allowed for the user; means for storing interpretation information for interpreting, based on apparatus status information, that the acquired gesture information is an instruction corresponding to one of the specific operations allowed for the user; means for acquiring an apparatus operation instruction from the acquired gesture information and the acquired apparatus status information by using the interpretation information; and means for executing the acquired apparatus operation instruction.
