A clutch controller controls the clutch to attain a start standby state based on the first setting value upon determining that the vehicle has proceeded to a start standby period and controls the clutch to attain a start preparation state, in which the distance between the clutch disks is smaller than that in the start standby state, based on the second setting value upon determining the vehicle has proceeded to a start preparation period. The clutch controller controls the clutch such that the distance between the clutch disks is smaller than that in the start preparation state and carries out control such that an engine speed approaches an engine target speed.
