Via an anchoring system coupled with the vessel for anchoring the floating body (1) and having a number of spuds (7, 8), the vessel may be anchored with respect to the bottom at the location to be excavated. At least one of the number of spuds (7) is a divisible spud including a plurality of spud sections (8) coupled end to end in series.
