The present invention relates to a film with low an optical retardation and thus low stress birefringence which contains at least one layer containing at least one polycarbonate or co-polycarbonate and which, on account of its optical properties, is suitable for use in opto-electronic devices, e.g. in displays and touch panels, as well as to a process for the production of such films and to the use thereof.
