A cleaning blade for an image forming apparatus includes a base and a contact portion disposed on the base that contacts and cleans a surface of an intermediate transfer belt. A Martens hardness of the contact portion of the cleaning blade is at least 2 [N/mm2] and not more than 10 [N/mm2].
