The device for drawing a metal tube in which drawing is performed by making a metal blank tube 2 pass through between a die 10 for forming an outer surface and a plug 11 for forming an inner surface includes a control unit 31 configured to: measure an elapsed time from a time at which supplying of a lubricating oil L to a surface of the plug 11 is stopped until the metal blank tube 2 is set at a drawing position between the die 10 and the plug 11 and becomes ready to be drawn; control to not perform drawing of the metal blank tube 2 when the measured elapsed time exceeds a preset elapsed time; and control to initiate drawing of the metal blank tube 2 when the measured elapsed time is within a preset allowed time.
