The present invention refers to a compound selected from the group consisting of a lysophospholipid and a lysophospholipid analogue for use in the treatment or prophylaxis of honeybee brood diseases, in particular American foulbrood and European foulbrood. The invention also refers to a diet composition, a sprayable composition, a dipping solution for brood combs, a beeswax composition and liposomal and microsphere- or nanosphere-based compositions, comprising a compound according to the invention, for use in the treatment or prophylaxis of bee brood diseases.
