The carriage includes plural cartridges that are removable and contain liquids to be ejected from the recording head, and an operating portion that performs operation to release fixation of the ink cartridges to the carriage. The ink cartridges are provided in the carriage to be arranged in a direction crossing a moving direction of the carriage, and the operating portion is located outside the ink cartridges in the moving direction of the carriage.
