INITIAL CELL SCANNING BASED ON CONTEXT INFORMATION
Abstract:
A user equipment comprises one or more antennas, a processor to communicate with an enhanced Node B (eNB) of an Internet Protocol (IP) based wireless communication network via the antenna; and a storage medium coupled to the processor. The storage medium having instructions stored thereon, that if executed by the processor, result in: collecting, at a first location, context information associated with a second location, wherein the user equipment is to roam from the first location to the second location; predicting the second location of the user equipment based on the context information; determining a set of one or more candidate frequency bands relating to the second location; and performing, at the second location, an initial cell scan based on the set of one or more candidate frequency bands to search for a frequency band that is supported by the user equipment, in response that the user equipment roams to the second location.
