The polymeric photoactive agent composition can include a polymeric photoactive agent including a xanthone analog modified with a polyether chain connecting to the xanthone analog through an ether linkage. The polymeric photoactive agent can be present in a reaction product mixture with either i) a xanthone analog modified with a hydroxyl group, or ii) a carbonate base.
